Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He combines soul gospel jazz with R&B in a distinct blend. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as in the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine is Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta currently, she is born in Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician, singing and playing in the local church. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical education began in Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You A house 12 released only in Japan and has since been remixed by numerous producers and is a staple of her live sets. The Fighting Temptations was the another soundtrack on which she sang. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as the principal keyboardist on his stage play Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy as well as Tony Awards-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir in the production staged by Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine received national attention through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
